One of the most common types of headaches is the tension type headache. These stem from the musculature in the neck and head. Trigger points or taught bands can form in the muscles and create a headache. These tight muscles can also entrap the greater occipital nerve resulting in a headache. Treatment of these muscles and entrapped nerves with Active Release Technique typically results in resolution of acute headaches. Recurring headaches and those that do not respond well to ART are commonly compounded by another issue. While understanding the direct cause of tension headaches is imperative, identifying the underlying issue that causes the muscles to be tight is paramount to long term resolution of the issue.
On Monday, May 15th I had the GREAT pleasure of volunteering for the Bella’s Angels 4th Annual Hundred Hole Hike fundraiser at Turtle Creek Club. The funds from this event will provide financial assistance to Bella and seventeen additional Buddies who have life-long physical disabilities. The proceeds will provide for much needed therapy, equipment, supplies, medical co-pays, medical-related travel expenses and so much more for these families. It was a gorgeous day as I assisted fourteen golfers who hiked the 100 holes equating to 30.2 miles, 71 flights of stairs or 65,452 steps.
It is not too late for you to make a difference for this local grassroots organization and the physically disable children they serve. Please consider making a donation in my name to Bella’s Angels. There are two easy ways that you can still help support this fundraiser and these great kids:
- Checks made payable to Bella’s Angels can be mailed to P.O. Box 1562, Jupiter, FL 33468 (please write my name in the memo line)
- You can go online to our website by clicking on the following link: https://www.bellasangels.org/donate-online. In the comments section, please write my name.
THANK YOU for your support of me and for Bella’s Angels. Because of your generosity, they will be able to take on additional families and make a HUGE impact in the lives of those who they currently serve by providing financial assistance for these children’s medical expenses.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Deborah Jaffe at Bella’s Angels at (561) 373-4823.
